General Settings

Open Settings with Cmd+, on macOS or Ctrl+, on Windows and Linux.

General tab

Appearance

Theme: Pick a color theme. See Themes for the full list and how to import custom ones.

Interface

Sidebar: Toggle the sidebar visibility. You can also toggle it with the collapse button at the bottom of the sidebar.

Knowledge Base

Notes folder: The folder Coeus reads notes from. This is where all your .md files live.

To change it, click the folder path and pick a new location. Coeus will re-index the new folder. Your old notes folder is not deleted or changed.

AI Providers tab

Where you configure AI providers. See AI Providers and the individual setup guides.

The Embeddings section at the bottom of this tab is where you configure semantic search. See Semantic Search.

Integrations tab

Telegram Bridge: Connect a Telegram bot for mobile capture. See Telegram.

Speech & Transcription: Set up voice transcription (local Whisper or OpenAI API). See Voice Transcription.

System tab

App Updates: Check for updates, download, and install them. Coeus can also check automatically at startup. See Updates.

Anonymous analytics: Optional beta usage analytics are off by default. If enabled, Coeus sends coarse product events such as startup, screen views, setup completion, provider type, and AI run status. Coeus never sends notes, prompts, responses, paths, URLs, provider payloads, API keys, model names, or personal identifiers.
